Mini-splits for Asheville
Asheville homes have different needs from most of our service areas. Winters are cold, many older homes and mountain cabins were built without air conditioning, and plenty still rely on baseboard heaters, propane or space heaters.
A ductless mini-split solves both problems at once: efficient heat for the winter and cooling for warmer summers, without new ductwork.
How our network works
Windsanity is based in Houston. In Asheville, the work is done by a trusted technician from our network who knows the area. We coordinate the job, from sizing and quoting to scheduling, and hold it to the same standards as our own installs.
Heat first
In the mountains, heating is the bigger job. We recommend cold-climate mini-splits that keep heating efficiently in freezing weather, and we size them for the space, including drafty older windows and high ceilings.
Common Asheville projects
- Mountain cabins and second homes
- Older homes adding air conditioning for the first time
- Replacing baseboard or space heaters
- Bonus rooms, studios and additions
What a typical install looks like in Asheville
It starts with a conversation with Windsanity. We ask about the space, collect photos, and line up a technician from our Asheville network to visit. They look at how the home is heated today, measure the rooms, and check insulation and windows, since heating capacity drives the sizing here.
On install day, the technician mounts the indoor unit, runs the line set and drain line, and sets the outdoor unit on a raised stand above typical snow depth. On sloped mountain lots, that may mean a wall bracket. Most single-zone installs take about a day.
A yearly tune-up in the fall makes sure the system is ready for winter. We stay your point of contact for questions, warranty help and maintenance.
