Mini-splits for Austin
Austin homeowners have been adding space wherever they can: backyard offices, garage conversions, and accessory dwelling units (ADUs). Each of those spaces needs its own heating and cooling, and running ducts from the main house rarely makes sense.
A ductless mini-split is built for exactly that. It heats and cools one space on its own, with its own thermostat.
ADUs and backyard offices
ADUs and backyard studios are small and well-defined, which makes them ideal for a mini-split. We size the system for the space so it runs efficiently and keeps the room comfortable through Austin’s long summers.
Older central Austin homes
Neighborhoods like Hyde Park, Travis Heights and Clarksville have plenty of older homes, some still relying on window units. A mini-split replaces them with something much quieter and more efficient, without opening walls for ductwork.

What a typical install looks like in Austin
For an ADU or backyard office, we start with the space itself: its size, insulation, windows and how much afternoon sun it gets. Small, well-built spaces often need a smaller system than people expect, which keeps costs down.
On install day, we mount the indoor unit, run the line set and drain line through a small hole in the wall, set the outdoor unit, and connect the power. For detached buildings, we plan the electrical connection during the visit. Most single-zone installs take about a day.
If you’re replacing window units, we remove them so you get your windows back. A yearly tune-up keeps the system efficient, and cedar pollen season in winter is a good reminder to rinse the filters.
